Just wanted all my followers to know that I moved my blog to www.Lindsay-land.com … I want all of you to visit and “follow” me there please!
Thank you very much,
I can’t decide what is the best part about snow days, if it’s the fact that I don’t have to go to school or the surreal feeling I get watching the sparkling snow cover the streets and houses with a blanket of white. Either way, snow days just feel like an unexpected gift given to us by mother nature.
Shout out to the storm-naming people for naming this blizzard Nemo and giving everyone that will be hit by it a really good reason to watch Finding Nemo while snuggling under some warm blankets. The snow has been persistently falling since about 6 am and should continue to fall until mid-afternoon tomorrow. Where I live in New York we are supposed to get about a foot of snow, which means I’ll be stuck in my house.
What’s the best way to make use of a snow day, you ask?
Have tons of fun on your snow day! Stay warm xoxo
If there’s anything you should know about me, you should know that Demi Lovato is my role model. I’ve been a Demi fan since the beginning of her acting career on Disney Channel when she was in a mini series called As the Bell Rings. I’ve seen her live in concert many times and her voice live is beyond flawless and her style is perfection! Yes, she’s had a few troubled years, but the fact that she asked for help makes her a really admirable person.
Here’s some of my favorite pictures of Demi!!
One thing Demi has done recently that was very good-hearted of her is that on Christmas, she sang and recorded her singing Alabama’s “Angels Among Us” and dedicated it to the Sandy Hook victims and families.
I’ve been watching a ton of documentaries in my free time recently and it’s actually a lot less boring than it sounds. I think that documentaries have a bad reputation, they are really insightful without being dull and drab!
The September Issue is a documentary that followed the staff of Vogue Magazine through the entire planning and production of the 2007 September issue of Vogue. The film features Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue, and Grace Coddington, creative director of Vogue.
Although it’s not as action packed as The Devil Wears Prada, The September Issue is definitely as drama-filled. I really liked this documentary because it depicts what it is actually like to work for a magazine, through all of the ups and downs. It also does a really good job of showing the creative process behind the stories in the magazine.
I could watch this over and over again. You should watch it too!
For those of you who don’t know who Bill Cunningham is, he is one of the most influential photographers in the fashion industry. Since his early childhood, Bill has been snapping photos of ordinary people on the streets of New York City who are wearing clothes that are anything but ordinary.
Bill Cunningham New York is a documentary produced in 2010 about Bill’s life and his amazing work. I’m upset I haven’t been too familiar with Bill’s work because it’s something very unique and special. The documentary depicts the real Bill and I think it will be a pleasantly surprising fresh air for most. Bill doesn’t photograph for fame, for money, or for the celebrities, he does it because it makes him happy.
One of the things that shocks me the most is that Bill is 83 years old! The entire day Bill rides around NYC on his bicycle scoping out the most interesting characters in the masses. The photos he takes really embody the feeling of the people and he and his team at the New York Times, where he reports for the Sunday Style section, arrange the photos in perfectly eye-catching and cohesive pieces.
I won’t spoil the whole film but if you are at all interested in fashion, photography, or even in the newspaper, I would definitely recommend watching this documentary.
Here in New York, we have four very distinct seasons. The spring is fresh and warm, the summer is scorching, the fall is crisp, and the winter is brutally cold. I find myself skipping over my studded three quarter sleeve shirt and opting for my comfy wool sweater.
One thing I’ve had my eye on for a while is a faux fur collar. It drapes over your jacket or coat just like a scarf would, except it looks like the lush mink stoles high class women used to wear out in the olden days. Fur automatically adds an air of luxury to any outfit (if use correctly) and is so easy to accommodate into your wardrobe.
One of my all-time favorite bloggers, Sammi from beautycrush.co.uk, has a whole collection of faux fur collars and she pulls them off so well. I’m obsessed! They look so chic and comfortable I am compelled to buy one!
Kendall and Kylie Jenner, the famous half sisters of the Kardashians, just released that they are working on a clothing line coming out in spring 2013. I’m bouncing off the walls excited for this because I totally admire their style. They both have this polished rock and roll look that is so unique and original. According to the girls, the collection will feature t-shirts, blouses, pants, jackets, and accessories. They haven’t released the name or where it is going to be sold at but I hope it’s affordable; I already know I am going to want it all!
